Vlora is located in SW Albania along the low coast of the Adriatic and the rocky coast of the Ionian. With an area of 1609 km2 and a population of 200,000 inhabitants, the district of Vlora is bordered to the north by Fier, to the east by Mallakastra and Tepelena, and to the south by Saranda and Gjirokastra.

Being the second port of the country, Vlora is located 72 km from Otranto (Italy) and 123 km from the island of Corfu (Greece). Marine transport operates regularly on the lines with the ports of Bari and Brindiz. In order to transport goods and passengers, 3 million tons of goods are processed in this port per year. Also, Vlora communicates with Tirana (135km) and Durrës (100km) via the highway and the artery of the Albanian Railway. In the internal lines, it is carried out by means of bus, taxi and van. The most important tourist itineraries are Vlorë-Kaninë, Vlorë-Llogora-Himarë and Vlorë-Amantia and Vlorë-Zvërnec.
